Questions worth answering first

Getting started

Do I need to understand any of the technical side?: No. If you can put files in a folder and drag them into an order, you can run a channel. Everything to do with encoding and broadcasting happens out of sight, and there is nothing to configure.
Does my computer need to stay on?: No. Your broadcast runs on our machines. Once you have pressed go you can shut your laptop, lose your internet connection, or fly somewhere else — it makes no difference to what is going out.
What can I put on a channel?: Audio files for the sound, and either one picture or one video for people to look at. You upload them yourself; Streamhen does not connect to Spotify, Apple Music or any other streaming service.

How long can a broadcast stay up?: As long as you want. Running for weeks or months without stopping is the ordinary case, not an edge case, and the whole product is built around it.
Can I change the music without going off air?: Yes. Add, remove and reorder tracks while the broadcast is live. Your changes take effect once the current track has finished, so nothing is ever cut off midway.
What happens if YouTube drops the connection?: We reconnect and pick the schedule back up where it should be. You do not need to be watching for it, and it is written into the record so you can see it happened.
Can I tell it to start next Tuesday at three?: No. You start a broadcast when you want it to begin. Scheduled starts are not something Streamhen does.

Whose responsibility is the music?: Yours. You need the right to broadcast everything you upload, and that includes music you bought a copy of — owning a record is not the same as being allowed to play it to the public. If you are not sure, assume you need a licence.
Do you check what I broadcast?: No. We do not inspect, screen or moderate your files. We move them to YouTube on your behalf, and what you broadcast remains your responsibility. YouTube applies its own rules regardless of ours.
Are you part of YouTube?: No. Streamhen is independent and has no affiliation with YouTube or Google. We deliver your broadcast to YouTube the same way any other streaming software does, through a channel you own. You need your own YouTube account, and YouTube’s rules apply to what you broadcast whatever ours say.
Can I broadcast to Twitch or anywhere else?: No, YouTube only. Supporting one destination properly is the reason we can be confident about a broadcast still being up a week later.
Can other people help me run my channels?: Not yet — an account belongs to one person. There are no shared or team accounts.
